Apple iTunes 10 Billion Download Countdown

Apple sold its one billionth song in February 2006 and its 5 billionth song in June 2008.

Google High Speed Internet

Google after stealing the news with its Buzz, now has unveiled new plans to revolutionize Internet by testing an ultra high-speed Internet service. Google has said that this Internet is more than 100 times faster than most broadband connections currently offered by cable and telecom providers all over the world. Google said that it will launch the service in a small number of trial locations across the U.S for a competitive price to more than half a million people.

The goal of the project, Google said, is to “experiment and learn.”

Google wrote in its blog as “Network providers are making real progress to expand and improve high-speed Internet access, but there’s still more to be done,”.

Yes, obviously there is more to be done. But the way Google is approaching this, the future Internet access is be estimated  to be at 1 GB/second transfer which is 100 times faster than today.

As a preliminary step, Google has begun soliciting information from local governments and citizens in a way to gather interest.

Opera Mini for iPhone

The Apple iPhone will be getting a brand new web browser known as the Opera Mini, adding to the over whelming 140,000 apps in the App Store catalog. Opera Mini being popular in Windows platform of Mobiles, has now entered the iPhone arena.

But Apple has not yet approved third party applications for its iPhone. Hence this will be an interesting competition between Apple and Opera.

If you are keen to know just how well the Opera Mini for iPhone will run,  head to Mobile World Congress (MWC) next week in Barcelona.

Definitely Opera Mini is expected to boost iPhone browsing experience.

Emerge Technologies has now unveiled a new universal charger. In the market it is called the 40W Charger model ETCHGNETB. Hence this eliminates some of the other chargers for many different devices which you will need to carry.

A universal charger will also make life much simpler for the consumer. The consumer will also be able to use the same charger for future handsets, as well as being able to charge their mobile phone anywhere from any available charger.

Features: The charger ships with seven interchangeable tips making it compatible with almost all netbooks that are on the market today. The major advantage is that the charger uses retractable cables making them less bulky and easier to pack and has considerable durability. When the cables are retracted, the charger takes up less space than an iPhone which would prove its worth.

Cables: The retractable cables are up to 6-feet long and the charger can power devices from an AC outlet or DC outlet on a plane or in a car. A USB port on the device lets you charge another USB gadget at the same time.

Pricing: This Universal charger is set to ship this month for $69.99 in the market.

Hey guys, I stumbled upon this new messenger ooVoo, well all of you might be wondering that when already so famous yahoo and windows live messenger are available for free why use this messenger, well the answer is simple this messenger features a multi-video conference, it supports up to 6 parallel clients and high resolution video. Well I tested in and found that the video quality and sound quality is great but you need a pretty good friend internet connection to support 6 clients. But as all of you know that all the good things are not free so it the ooVoo it gives you a 30 days trial period in which you can use all the premium features, but the charges are very nominal 2 way video is free but then with addition of every other client they charge 0.10$ per min. This also offers remote desktop along with file transfer and many other interesting features.

Today on February 9, Google announced a new service called Google Buzz which lets its users to start conversations (very similar to Twitter) but directly within Gmail. More interesting part is that users can also link their own Twitter, Flickr, Picasa, and Google Reader accounts to their Buzz conversations which makes it more efficient. Each time a user posts, the user can publicly share their conversations or limit the conversations to selected contacts. Updates happen real time without the need for any refresh very similar to twitter. Another missing twitter feature is here in Buzz, the one which removes uninteresting posts from conversations.

Buzz also supports mobile devices right from the word go.
Google Buzz for mobile allows you to post buzz and keep up with your friends when you’re away from your computer, the feature which is available in Twitter. It also uses your location to identify places around you which makes use of Google Maps. You can select one of these places and attach it as location tag to your posts, or read what others have posted about the place.

Google Buzz is now available for the Apple iPhone and Android mobile devices.

Buzz’s Features

• Automatic friends lists, which means friends are added automatically whom you have emailed on Gmail)

• Public and private sharing of your conversations, which means you can swap between family.

• "Rich fast sharing" combines Picasa and Twitter into a single feed, and it includes full-sized photo browsing.

• Inbox integration (instead of emailing you with updates, Buzz features emails that update dynamically with all Buzz thread content)

Though Google Buzz is similar to twitter, it offers a host of features missing in any other social network which would encourage people to move on to Buzz.

Though this Google Tablet looks like it would end Apple’s dominance, it remains to be seen whether Google actually has more to offer.

It seems no surprise about Google’s entry into Tablet PCs. With Microsoft and Apple being its competitors, already established well, Google would have to bring something out of the box features to make it impressive.

With a small video clip shown in the chromium blog, Google has now focused more  on advanced technology which people are not used to it.
